What We Do

The Clear Creek Militia Chapter, NSDAR, is a devoted and enthusiastic chapter that is involved in a wide range of activities. We honor veterans by flying our American flags and commemorating our national holidays. We lend support to area veteran hospitals and award Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) medals at local high schools. Our chapter’s efforts are focused on preserving our past through American heritage activities and promoting literacy for our children and grandchildren through our support of education.

The advancement of education is a vital part of our chapter’s work. We sponsor the DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest at high schools in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Union counties in North Carolina. We honor teachers by giving a Teacher of the Year award. We assist many schools throughout the region, including DAR supported schools such as the Crossnore School and Children’s Home in Crossnore, North Carolina.
